Relax and enjoy a walk in the unspoilt nature of Balen and its surroundings.
If you look at the tourist map of Balen, you will immediately notice that it is surrounded by nature reserves. Each of these has its own unique character. Absolutely worth visiting during your stay are the Keiheuvel and Scheps. You can explore them via beautiful walks.
A nice extra are the poles that have been installed along the way to attach a hammock so that you can enjoy a well-deserved nap in the middle of the countryside.
Our favourite is the picnic island in the Scheps nature reserve. Here you can enjoy the silence on an island that you can reach via a small footbridge.
